IBM Data and AI Ideas Portal for Customers

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Post ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

CM should support majority-vote failover arbitration as an alternative to priority-based

Currently, the Informix Connection Manager handles failover arbitration on the basis of a priority setting in the ${CMCONFIG} file. This has the effect of making a single CM the judge, jury and executioner when it comes to failover events. And it ...

CM should allow LOG to be set at the SLA-level

We have a Connection Manager configuration that includes multiple SLAs. There are times when it would be incredibly useful to enable logging for just one SLA while leaving it disabled for all of the others. Currently, the only option is to spawn a...

CM should report client IP and SLA when errors occur

Our connection managers routinely log failed client attempts to connect via the CM, but when this happens, it doesn't report the client's IP nor does it report the name of the SLA via which it's trying to connect. Both of these would be incredibly...

Request for an Informix CSDK port for MAC OS M1 processor

Is Informix CSDK 4.1x or 4.5x ported for MAC OS M1 processor? Seems like the last one available is x86_64 4.10 and I saw someone asking for a port in Dec 2021 with no response. Maybe there are some specific steps to run as a workaround using the e...

Backup/Restore GUI within HQ

One of the least enjoyable tasks is to using the archecker utility. Many times we need to restore just a row and/or rows in a table from an ontape backup. Restoring an entire database is easy from the command line. It would be very helpful if HQ c...
