We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Post your ideas
Post ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
Post an idea
Upvote ideas that matter most to you
Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Index reorg information in a SNAP* view or a MON_GET* table function
Please make index reorganization progress (not table reorganization) accessible via a MON_GET* table function. Right now, it is only available via db2pd -d dbname -reorg -indexes and that is nearly impossible to parse via script.
Event monitor creation, write to table option should allow to specify a tabkespace into which ALL the new tables should be created in
Create event monitor write to table option will create new tables. All the new tables are defined in a tablespace which db2 chooses.I want an option to specify a tablesapce name, in which ALL the new tables should get created in.
Display row stats ( rows_read, rows_written, tq_rows_sent, tq_rows_recv) for each sub-section in MON_GET_AGENT
Currently, there is no equivalent of getting row level information ( TQ_ROWS_SENT/RECV, Rows Read, Rows written ) for each agent running within a sub-section which was readily available in snap_get_subsection or db2 get snapshot for application ag...
Please add Firstlsn to the MON_GET_CONNECTION table function
The firstLSN is only available using db2pd. It is the ninth column reported from: db2pd -transactionsIt does not appear to be anywhere else. I would like to be able to query it using the MON_GET* table functions.
Expand db2pd -reorgs index to cover index rebuilds
Currently, there is no way to monitor index rebuild progress using db2pd. It will be useful for customers to be able to monitor index rebuild progress as they do for index reorgs (db2pd -reorgs index).
Add a monitoring table function to return transaction ids along with their commit times.
Goldman Sachs needs to know all the insert/update/delete operations against all tables updated by 1000s of applications along with their commit times. They dont want to use a replication. They want to use triggers that will be triggered on I/U/D o...
ADMIN_TAB_INFO is sloooow and this has been the case for quite sometiome.
Extremely slow when used in a RP environment. Also used by check_upgrade which takes 7+ hours to run. Environment has 2million+ objects, 1 range per day for 3 years. Check_upgrade may be calling check for load pending which used admin_tab_info
