We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Post your ideas
Post ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
Post an idea
Upvote ideas that matter most to you
Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Poor performance on DB2 V11.1 due to changes in build process
Some customers are noticing performance degradations moving from v105 ESE to v111 ESE on the same hardware. These degradations are most pronounced in OLTP workloads, with an emphasis on INSERT and UPDATE operations.Db2 Support has confirmed that th...
Turn on reclaimable storage without dropping/recreating the tablespaces
After a migration from db2 9.5 to 10.1, several days passed, and we reached the maximum size of a DMS tablespace of 4K.We moved one table to a different tablespace, but still noticed that the free pages were equal to 0. We tried to execute the al...
Improve performance of SET INTEGRITY command through use of (intra partition) parallelism
SET INTEGRITY does currently not make use of intrapartition parallelism.SET INTEGRITY (with "checked" option) for large tables and/or tables with many foreign key and/or check constraints consumes a large amount of time while the table is not acce...

INSTANCE_MEMORY AUTOMATIC should be automatic, not calculated
The default value of the INSTANCE_MEMORY parameter is AUTOMATIC. The AUTOMATIC setting results in a value that is computed at database partition activation. This behavior is inflexible regarding dynamic memory changes e.g. for AIX LPARs. Today it ...
db2start of a running instance should reload/restart configuration without interruption of current sessions
Sometimes dbm configuration changes are not active immediately and require a full instance restart. E.g.adding an SSL port and configupdates of the db catalogchanges in SYS*_GROUP...It would be great, if a db2start command is issued while the inst...
