Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Truncate table partiton

1. many customers expect to truncate a table partition without first detach and then drop, and finaly add a new partition with the same definition as the detached partition, because they may design their range partition as "Jan, Feb, ... Dec" with...

DB2 to add support for Oracle equivalent UTL_RAW package methods.

Oracle provided UTL_RAW to do bit calculation and comparison. After setting DB2 COMPATIBILITY VECTOR for ORA also we don't have any support for these packages in DB2. Oracle's UTL_RAW functions e.g. BIT_AND does not have any limitation on input RA...

Parallel index rebuild.

ADMIN_TAB_INFO is sloooow and this has been the case for quite sometiome.

Extremely slow when used in a RP environment. Also used by check_upgrade which takes 7+ hours to run. Environment has 2million+ objects, 1 range per day for 3 years. Check_upgrade may be calling check for load pending which used admin_tab_info

RP Tables syntax

If the “INDEX IN” option is left off the index goes in the default TSP. There is no way to change this later
