IBM Data and AI Ideas Portal for Customers

Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Post ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notification on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

OPL Script function to see which variables exist in model

Using OPL script, is it possible to know whether a given variable name exists in model ?For instance, something like model.contains("x") that would return true if x is a variable in model. If yes, is there any way of knowing the type and the indic...

OPL function to assign a initial value or fix te value to a variable

The only way to do a warm start is by using OPL script.it should be possible in the variable declaration to give a start value.the same way if you want to fix a variable to a value you need to 2 lines of code to fix the upper and lower bounds... O...

OPL model generation with multithreating

the OPL model generation uses only 1 core and it takes time.with a pre analysis of the model it could be possible to parallelize some of the model generation.

Improve constraint priority attachment in OPL

Actually we have to use OPL script to attach a relaxation priority to a constraint. It will be easier to attach this priority at the creation of the constraint. Reason is that a constraint tupleset can easily include a priority field:tuple rvConst...

Improve OPL Interfaces by providing dynamically typed API and a “façade” compatible with the .NET framework

Using OPL interface in .Net is cumbersome. Manipulate data elements object and result is far from being trivial.By example, instantiate an int look like that:OplDataSource dataSource = new MyCustomDataSource(oplF);internal class MyCustomDataSource...

Improve OPL Interfaces by providing field access infer by using the OPL model schema

Modify coefficient, adding variable, iterate on tupleset, modifiing dataElements and almost all operation in the OPL interface are really counter intuitive. Object uses by OPL are not directly compatible with the framework object. Ituple!= Tuple. ...

support for date in OPL

Manipulating Date in OPL is tedious. One needs to load them as string, then use script to convert them in date and access fields of this script object (month / year ...). Furthermore, it is not even possible to create a Date from a string in scrip...

OPL interface for Matlab

Would be great to have not only a Matlab interface to CPLEX, but to OPL as well. It would facilitate. model deisgn (.mod) using OPL (way easier than working directly with CPLEX. model modification, re-run, post/pre-processing computations using a ...
