We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Post your ideas
Post ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
Post an idea
Upvote ideas that matter most to you
Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Classification process should automatically "learn" from users' manual overrides (per tenant)
Organizations may have a specific pattern for storing data such as person names that don't fit our OOTB regex. For example, names may be stored as "CADOW, EDWARD O (Ed)" in a given system. The inferred classification is Text rather than "Person Na...
Allow user to specify catalog as the target for automatically discovered data assets
Currently when user checks the option to discover data assets on a connection, the discovered data assets are always added to a (staging) project first, with expectation that the user will then go to the project, and then select the ones he wishes...
default for catalog shows 4 assets.if you collapse the "recent" it almost shows 10.
So if there is 100, what shows? what 1k, 10k, 100k, 1M.
This is way to few since we expect catalogs to be well populated to be useful.
Discovery fall out queues for generating new terms
When doing discovery and mapping the terms many of the fields can't be mapped to a term. It is not a matter of AI not doing its job but there is no appropriate term. This applies to the ones that have no term assignmentDuring the discovery proce...
Rely on Cloud IAM to control individualized access to IBM Cloud assets
The Cloud Platform has made a significant investment in IAM enablement over the past year as part of the One Cloud work. I think we could do a better job of leveraging this system in Catalog to help users create a secure, well-governed data lake.
Custom-SQL MITI Bridges should report which scripts fail
When importing metadata with OpenIGC Custom-SQL bridges, like the PL/SQL and BTEQ ones, a directory with many scripts is specified in the parameters. If one script from that directory fails, no warning message is shown in the output, we just get "I...
WKC recognizes multiple files in a bucket as a single data asset,
We need this because we want to be able to enter metadata only and access policies once for all files that comprise a data source.
Specific examples:a) Uploading multiple pdfs needs to be able to store pdfs for a particular geo in a folder. Those...
