We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post an idea
Upvote ideas that matter most to you
Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Server Trace profile values should be tied to a specific subsystem
While in the ISPF Server Trace, I can set profile values in order to limit the number of records being viewed. These profiles should be specific to the subsystem that I am currently connected to instead of a global variable that applies to the ISP...
Return sql warning when zero/spaces are returned for invalid values in host files.
DVM allows us to turn on parameters like SQLENGIVZERO and SQLENGDFSHRC to handle situations where the underlying record contains invalid values or is shorter than the table structure. In cases where DVM converts values under the covers, a warning ...
Only allow the creator of a given map to delete it
Currently any user that has the ability to create maps also has the ability to delete them regardless of who the original creator was. This coupled with the current view in DVM Studio that displays the entire subsystem instead of just a subset of ...
Currently all logic within DVM is encapsulated with the SQL statements. This limits the amount of logic that can be handled within DVM and forces us to potentially make multiple distributed calls to DVM to complete one unit of work. By adding (or ...
Currently we access Greenplum using the JDBCGateway. WE have seen numerous abends using this method. Also a bug has been identified using the UNION ALL in JDBCGateway. Please build in Greenplum support
Currently, when implementing web services, the final step is to refresh z/OS Connect. The refresh will make available all web services that have been added to DVM regardless of whether the supporting area want them to be available. For example, ar...
Currently, when new web services are added, z/OS Connect must be refreshed to recognize the existence of a new operation or group of operations. The refresh must be done by issuing a REST call to /dvs?Refresh. Ideally, there should be a way to inc...
Allow for the creation of a Web Service directory as part of the import
Currently, a Web Service directory has to be manually created on the DVM subsystem using DVM Studio before web services can be migrated. Any steps that cannot be accomplished during the import (either JCL or REST call) is not guaranteed to be repe...
The customer is migrating from Shadow to DVM and found out the hard way that SP calls are not supported under DRDA. Switching all the SP calls to RRS is not acceptable due to overhead and non zIIP eligibility.
Allow JGate to run X wide on a highly available env w/op the need to manually configure each instance
We have the need to run several instances of JGate on separate LPARs on the same plex and configure DVM to load balance between the instances on order to handle situations where one LPAR goes down. Currently, these instances are completely separat...
