We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post an idea
Upvote ideas that matter most to you
Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Allow for the creation of a Web Service directory as part of the import
Currently, a Web Service directory has to be manually created on the DVM subsystem using DVM Studio before web services can be migrated. Any steps that cannot be accomplished during the import (either JCL or REST call) is not guaranteed to be repe...
A customer recently conducted a PoC using DVM and z/OS Connect as an alternative to an existing ETL based system which does nightly offloads of IMS data from the mainframe into a SQL Server database which is accessed by client applications.
We need the ability to manage the components (virtual tables, virtual views, etc.) generated by DVM in our software configuration management (SCM) system in order for them to be part of our DevOpts pipeline. Using the current batch utility (AVZGNM...
Specify User Exit routine name when defining IMS-DB virtual table
In Japan, most IMS user customers, especially in financial sector, have their roll-your-own program modules called "DBI" (database interface), and database access must be made through DBI always. DBI provides, for example, data compression/de-comp...
The customer is migrating from Shadow to DVM and found out the hard way that SP calls are not supported under DRDA. Switching all the SP calls to RRS is not acceptable due to overhead and non zIIP eligibility.
Allow columns to be deleted when creating Virtual Tables
During the creation of Virtual Tables, there will be scenarios where some columns should be excluded. Allowing this choice during creation would be much better than editing the VT afterwords. This is especially important when certain columns are c...
Allow JGate to run X wide on a highly available env w/op the need to manually configure each instance
We have the need to run several instances of JGate on separate LPARs on the same plex and configure DVM to load balance between the instances on order to handle situations where one LPAR goes down. Currently, these instances are completely separat...

In present world, there are N number of systems running in Mainframes, especially IMS DB, ADABAS, VSAM datasets. When an enterprise is needy to move the data present in above sources into a DB2 Data source to support their modern applications usin...
Ability to link DVM subsystem with z/OS Connect Service Provider in Preferences
Within DVM Studio, we are able to add multiple z/OS Connect Service Providers in the preferences section. When refreshing or executing the web services, the top entry is always used. If DVM cannot dynamically determine which z/OS Connect server is...
Allow DVM Studio to prompt for workspace at startup
Typically, Eclipse-based products will prompt the user for a workspace when the application is launched. DVM Studio, however, uses or creates dvm_workspace automatically. If a user wants to test a new version of Studio without the risk of the work...
