We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Post your ideas
Post ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
Post an idea
Upvote ideas that matter most to you
Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Need an onmode option to terminate orphaned, tightly coupled global transactions. Onmode -Z does not address this case.
If a Java application that uses tightly coupled global transactions (such as from Geronimo / WebSphere app servers) abnormally terminates, it may leave the global transaction orphaned on the Informix database server. In this case, an onstat -G wil...

Consolidate free space across entire chunk or dbspace
I suggest a repack-like tool which consolidates free space in an entire chunk or dbspace in order to get few, big enough, free spaces to use efficiently. Being able to do so online and with little blocking is desirable
As detailed on Informix Manual , the truncate statement is considered DDL and not DML and not allow execute it even if there dirty reads over the table. The request: Allow run the truncate over a table even if there users reading the table.
Provide more granular database-level privileges than just CONNECT, RESOURCE and DBA
We have a requirement to support a code deployment role where a user, whose job role is not a DBA, can release code into a given database. The type of things they would be doing is:* Creating and dropping procedures, synonyms, triggers, indices an...
Ability to re-create views and procedures without dependent objects being dropped
Some objects in a database often depend on other. As an example, if there is a view, another view can be built upon it.Private and public synonyms can be created for those views, and permissions given to various users on those views. If the first v...
We think Informix Cluster should have an automatically failback feature, that could physically priorize our servers (suggesting always that the primary node is in a site, for example). It would be just the same as using a Connection Manager, plus t...
