[Copy] Support mixed row/column environments without requiring CUR_COMMIT=ON

We have recently run into a problem when we enable Cur_commit because of the locking behavior expected by some applications (they expect blocking). Therefore, we have to disable CC, but then that app cannot use blu. We want to give our plant the a...

Hybrid Indexes(RIMS)

I recently inquired with IBM regarding what I am calling hybrid indexes, ie: indexes that reference normal columns as well as nodes within an XML column. This is not currently available, however, in the communications Melanie requested that I pass...

Add functionality during database migration to allow existing tablespaces to be reduced automatically(RIMS)

In V9.7, the internal structure of a tablespace has been slightly changed to allow a better way to reduce its space when it is no more needed. This is externalized by a new option in the 'ALTER TABLESPACE' command : 'REDUCE [MAX]' The point is tha...

way to make 'COMPRESS YES' the default for all CREATE TABLE/INDEX statements.(RIMS)

Customer would like a means to be able to make 'COMPRESS YES' the default behaviour for CREATE TABLE and CREATE INDEX statements. Since the customer's enterprise-data-warehouse database is used by many vendor applications, it's onerous to modify v...

display/report size of individual Index (not whole index object)(RIMS)

At present the size of an index is reported only in aggregate for all indexes on a table. It would be ideal to know the actual index size in bytes per individual index;

Utility to increase a tablespace's page size(RIMS)

currently, this can only be done by recreating the tablespace/tables, and Export/Load all the Data, very onerous.

Enforce index name uniqueness at table level; not at schema level(RIMS)

currently all index names for a partiuclar schema must be unique. This is painful when there are tens of thousands of indexes. They want to be able to use duplicate schema names as long as the name is unique per table that the index is defined on.

View invalid but be able to check if the dependant object(RIMS)

If an object that a view is dependant on (table, UDF etc) is dropped Rather than becoming permanently inoperable the view should become invalid but be able to check if the dependant object has been restored the next time it is accessed. If the dep...
