We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Post your ideas

Post an idea
Upvote ideas that matter most to you
Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Instead of modeling a single table space or table, for example, we want to use an entire hierarchy of objects to start building a new sets of objects. For example, we do MASSLIKE (example command name only) on a table space and it would pull into ...
On the ADB27C panel, give the user a facility (or let them know upfront) whether any columns are part of a constraint, index or anything that requires “extra work” (e.g. Having to use UP,DP to update, etc.
Provide mask to control the DEFER setting based on the UNIQUERULE(SYSINDEXES) of the index (either via REXX or standalone). Currently the REXX won’t handle this because the Db2 catalog row sent to masking is the SYSINDEXPART row which doesn’t cont...

When going through the ALTER path, Admin tool currently does not allow explicit changes to the history table, due to Db2 restrictions. However, Db2 does allow a change to a column's default value on the temporal table without changing the same col...
Support for Bind avoidance when using Enterprise Cobol with co-processor
The basic idea of Bind Avoidance is to exchange the consistency token in the executing code from the current version to the previous which means that no package bind will be necessary.
Traditionally the Db2 pre-compiler has been used to pre-proce...
Change Management - copy then modify previously saved dialog
We are a new user of the IBM tools. I'd like the ability to copy the existing saved dialog and then modify it (change environments). If there is an existing way to do this or workaround let me know. Editing the dataset "user.ADMIN.SAVEDLGS" isn't ...
When viewing the DB2 Tools Launchpad and the list of tools installed, enter '?' for a list of active SSIDs.
The list that returns includes all DB2 Systems by name, but only the descriptions of the subsystems that match entries in the currently...
If I go into view the catalog object. Let's say environment UNIT for table XYZ then back out to switch environments the tool should remember what I searched on last. Or even better be able to switch Db2 groups on the search panel and not have to g...
Provide a way to run CM Batch with CAF, so that the RRS limitation is bypassed and DSNREXX can be used in REXX verification exits.
The costumer's DBA team want to avoid any new tablespace creation not using Partitioned by Grouth Universal Tablespaces. As MAXPARTTITIONS is not a suitable override mask, we try using a REXX verification mask in the form: VER,TS:REXX(ADBDSIZE, DB...
