Multi select drop down filter like MS Excel

Currently when user looks for multi select prompts, we have only check box and List drop down available. It would be good to have option to have drop down Multi select feature similar to MS Excel to select multiple values.

Make the Cognos pop-up "validation" or "running report" contextual to its browser tab area

When validating or running a report and switching to the home screen or to another report the hourglass pop-up message remains in the front persistently. Our expectation is the pop-up message "Validating with report server" remains in the tab area...
