2G limitation in Db2 utility heap size allocation

If the number of buffers and buffer size are not user specified in the BACKUP DB command then Db2 limits the utility heap size allocation to 2G. Please remove this cap to allow for higher default allocation of the utility heap size which in turn s...

Population of V12 new added Catalog columns during activation of Function level V12R1M50 and avoid it later during executions of ALTER TABLESPACE because of contention of packages.

After you apply the PTF for APAR PI86123, the first ALTER TABLESPACE, populates any null attributes for objects created in function level V12R1M100 or earlier. When the one-time population occurs for an ALTER TABLESPACE statement, Db2 must quiesce...

Support synchronous detachment of a table partition

Starting with DB2 9.7(?) the detachment of table partitions is handled asynchonously. To simulate synchronous behaviour a complicated work around has to be put in place. Such a behavior could be triggered by a new DML keyword such as ASYNC.

DB2 should use the HWM value instead of total allocation for restores on AUTO storage dbs

This is general problem for db2 restore with automatic storage environments. The redirected restore requires total space allocated on source DB tablespaces instead of traditional HWM space requirements. This increases the space requirements on the...
