We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Post your ideas
Post ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
Post an idea
Upvote ideas that matter most to you
Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The product management team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notification on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Enable customers running 24/7 to create unique indexes
Our Internet and Mobile applications are used 24/7 and we do not have any batch windows nor any maintenance windows. When creating new indexes on existing tables the a CREATE INDEX operation generates an unwanted outage when created with DEFER NO....

new accounting trace field to indicate if distributed connection was secure or not
We have recently enabled the SECPORT in all our Db2 subsystem. And now it is possible for a distributed client to use the SECPORT (instead of TCPPORT) and establish a secure SSL/TLS connection to the Db2. Great. Ideally, I would like to shut down ...

DB2 Z/OS Sync Logical and Physical Parts after full Reorg

With early versions of DB2 the performance of EXPLAIN was not relevant. Nowadays, where DBAs do thousands of EXPLAINs, the performance and turnaround is getting critical. I think there is room for better performance and throughput of mass EXPLAINs...
Client Application Name (QMDAAPPL from IFCID 0003) used in column RLFEUAN from SYSIBM.DSNRLMTxx tables to governor distributed applications
We would like to use table SYSIBM.DSNRLMTxx (SYSIBM.DSNRLMT01) in order to avoid that certain applications, coming from distributed environment and reaching Db2 for z/OS through DDF, can execute SQL statements. We’d like to completely block these ...
Add Two Factor Authentication support for Data Studio

FL505 REBIND phase-in for packages extended to include BIND Package ACTION(REPLACE)
Rebind phase-in is already useful.
We have use cases typically for HOLD actions for 3rd party tools that tend to BIND Package ACTION(REPLACE) rather than REBIND existing packages.
So we still have to find a quiet time, e.g. for QMF Binds
Like the ...
