In the old version of Watson Asssitant the format of a reponse component was not rescricted to a few components. This was very good as it allowed flexsible extensions and custom UI interactions to be develop directly in WA without additional backend systems.
Today this is no longer possible why? There should be a custom way to define json response elements with having those explictly support in the WA editor UI.
An examples of these UI component could be dropdowns, accordions, vidoes, list etc.
The custom component could then be added using a new json element called "type": "custom". I'm not proposing that custom UI element should be inside the WA editor or functional with thrid party integration. Just that a custom developed WA solution can be customized in the WA responses as needed.
Many customers deselect WA as it lacks support of specific components that a project/solution needs.
