Brief of AM

Last year AM held a project whose objective was to configure the consolidation structures in order to obtain correct results at different consolidation subgroups, alas many problems arose since in AM’s company structure a subgroup belongs to many other subgroups, which is not supported by Controller. One of the proposed solutions by IBM technical team was to apply ownership at subsidiary level, which is not practical. There are subgroups with more than 30 companies, which implies that a small change in ownership would involve many changes and will very likely have errors.

Another case is the premature elimination of intercompany amounts with companies that concur in a group but which are not owned by the purchase method. America Movil requires that a company that is owned at less than 50% should rather be ignored, very much as the consolidation method Z works. Consolidation method Z can be applied to companies directly owned, but not to companies that belong to a subgroup that concurs in a group.

It will request major changes in our consolidation engine that we don't plan to do in our future releases
