Local client being compatible for different product versions

The Controller 11 client that is currently downloaded From Controller Web to a user's machine is only compatible to a single product version. For customers with separate production and development environments this will cause a restriction, say development being upgraded for testing prior to production. For IBM partners needing access to multiple SaaS environments, the user will either have to regularly uninstall and install anew, or invest in VM or something similar to facilitate different points of client access for different customers. To resolve this conflict, can IBM enable clients to be compatible with multiple product versions. For instance, the client for version 11.0.1.2 IF1 would be compatible will all versions upward of 11.0.0.0 RTM.
