Informational reconcilation rule

In IBM Controller shall be enhanced with a capability that allows non‑blocking plausibility checks to be executed as part of the consolidation workflow, including all stages of the reconciliation process. These checks are designed to identify unusual variances, missing relationships, or inconsistent figures that may arise during data entry, intercompany reconciliation or the final consolidation steps. When such a plausibility rule is violated, the system shall present a clear warning to the user but shall not block the reconciliation workflow or the execution of the company close. This ensures that users remain fully informed about potential data quality issues while maintaining the ability to complete reconciliation activities and proceed with the closing process on schedule.

Administrators shall be able to configure these non‑blocking plausibility checks, including the underlying logic, severity level and descriptive guidance. These rules must integrate seamlessly into the reconciliation process by highlighting issues in reconciliation views, intercompany difference lists and account‑level comparison screens. Throughout data input, reconciliation matching and the final close, the system shall surface warnings consistently and reliably in all relevant user interfaces. After the company close, IBM Controller shall generate a summary report that includes all triggered plausibility warnings, including those originating from reconciliation checks, and shall allow users to export this report for follow‑up, audit or documentation purposes.

The introduction of non‑blocking plausibility checks shall not affect existing blocking validation rules, which must continue to operate unchanged, especially those that prevent incorrect or incomplete reconciliation states from being finalized. The feature shall maintain full system performance, log all warnings in the audit trail and restrict configuration access to authorized administrators. This enhancement strengthens transparency and data‑quality awareness across all reconciliation and consolidation activities while ensuring that closing deadlines and operational processes remain unaffected.
