Value Prompt: Multi-select and Auto-submit

In Cognos 10.2.1 Fix Pack 3, I could set Auto-submit = Yes and Multi-select = Yes on a value prompt. At some point thereafter, the ability to have that combination was removed. IBM Support has stated that having both of those properties = Yes can degrade report performance. But that would be a decision the report developer should make, not IBM.

This is useful when I need the flexibility and performance of a report, but the appearance of a dashboard. I can put the prompts on the report page and create a dashboard experience, but have complete control over the queries to provide much better performance than is possible in the Dashboard tool.

    Thanks, Rachel. I believe allowing the report developer to make this choice is good. But I'm confused about the status of this request showing as "Not under consideration."

    This is a functionality we'd like to provide in a future releaes as part of prompting improvements.
