a data table currently only allows rows, it would be great if a data table allowed you have columns like a cross tab.
So if you were looking at yearly data the years for be columns and you could then collapse and uncollapse the rows and compare the data
Would be nice if there was a way to stagger some or all of the columns.

or because column 2 through 5 are a hierarchy, have the ability to drill down on column 2 to the level you want out lowest level.
Many of our users are complaining about text being clipped within the table. You can't resize the columns individually, and instead the width is spread evenly across all columns. When you have the project number and project description in 1 column, next to 6 columns which contain 3 to 6 characters, the result is 7 evenly sized columns. The columns which don't need a lot of space appear with a lot of white space, however the column which needs more room is clipped and you can't read which project the data is associated with. We have received complaints from 4 different users in the past 2 weeks. We need to be able to resize the columns.
The ability to drill through to a report from the data table would be a great feature.

7. The filter behaviour is a bit awkward, because you are just able to deselect elements.
It would be nice to have an option to select values as well.

5. Ability to sort by any column.
6. Ability to (de-)/select all elements in the filter
Number 2 is currently being worked on and should be available in the product in a future release.
Number 3, the overall data table size doesn't change dynamically but you can change the table height when authoring.
Number 4, you should be able to use custom column header text instead of the default one from data source. The property is called Column title label and it's available when the column title is selected. Hope this helps.
