Deployment of Individual Data Modules

Problem:

You cannot select Datamodules individually for exporting/deployment.

The only option is to select a folder.

This creates problems if you have a central Packages/Data module location for you business users. You cannot deploy a single or multiple separate Data Modules that are ready for ACC or PROD. You can only select the entire folder with all the items.

Work Around:

1: Make temp deployment folders where you have to put the Data Modules that are ready for deployment. And Export/Import and move the Data Modules to the required location on ACC of PROD.

This creates more manual work, and sow more possibilities for error.

2: Make separate folder for every Data Module.

This way you can promote single Data modules, BUT is creates a lot of additional non functional Folders. Sow this is less attractive for business users.

    Due to competing priorities there are no plans to deliver this in the foreseeable future. If there continues to get more interest IBM will reconsider in the future.
