Improve data set adding possibility to change its connection

We have installed Cognos 11.1.7 FP2 and are having some issues with data sets on our Cognos environment:

- data set created and refreshed based on a certain connection used in data source with multiple connections, can not be changed to point to another connection from the same data source.

Steps taken to reproduce issue (using a sample connection):

1. Log in with System Administrator on a Cognos environment

2. Create GoSales data source with 2 connections, name connections as follows: GoSales-1 and GoSales-2 (for this example, you can duplicate one connection and just rename it)

3. Create a package in Framework Manager based on GoSales (choose one table and publish it in Cognos Analytics)

4. In Cognos Analytics, create a data set based on the package created at point 3 (choose GoSales-1 as the connection)

5. Refresh data set created at point 4.

6. As we would need to be able to refresh the data set based on GoSales-2 data, as well, try changing reference for the data set to point to GoSales-2 connection instead of GoSales-1. Is that possible? We haven't found the option to change it from the data set.

As a workaround for point 6, we have found that we can temporarily disable GoSales-1 connection in order to be able to refresh data set based on GoSales-2.

We opened TS005241747, but the response is that there is currently no other solution.
