Two different scenarios that are causing "informational" or "warning" messages are:
An authored STANDARD report using full interactivity in CA (11.1.7 FP2). The user only have read, traverse and execute permissions on this report, since it's a standard report used by several thousand users.
When the user then tries to filter out some value in the report using the new flashy and built-in functionality, he then gets an informational message saying "Due to the report's security settings, you will not be able to save any changes".
The second case is when trying to use an authored report built on a data module to which the user do not have read access to (only traverse and execute), she then gets another information message "The permissions assigned to you may limit report functionality".
The user don't have read permissions to the data module in this instance because the user could then potentially see unfiltered data, most of which the user don't have security access to see.
(This could of course be built in a framework manager package instead. But the message seems to be "use data modules"...)
In both of these cases the informational messages are irritating for end users to see each time they run a report to fetch, sort and filter the data they need to get on with their work.

We are also seeing case #2 and would like to either remove or re-word the warning. It is causing our customers to loose faith in our reports b/c it look like Cognos is hiding data from them.
This is a very aggravating warning presented to users. Is there a resolution coming soon?
