    Hi,

Thank you for the shared information. Our interest is focused on data sets, not necessary on uploaded files.

As there are size limitations on uploaded files, we want to set up a maximum size limitation for an individual data set. As it is for the uploaded files, would also be good to have a maximum size of all data sets.

Additionally, for the configuration part, would be useful to have a setting to disable manual refresh of data sets and to allow refresh of data sets only via schedules and outside working hours (of course, to have a configuration where you can set the working hour interval). Those configurations would be useful to be as granular as possible, perhaps not only at environment level, but also for specific paths (for example, configuration to be applied on path "Team Content/GovernedBI").

For the monitoring part, I would like to be able to see answers to the following questions:

    - how frequently are the data sets refreshed?

    - how big are the data sets?

    - when (during working days / outside working days) and how (manually / scheduled) are those data set refreshed?

Let me know if more details are needed.

    Thank you!

Hi, data for data sets is handled in a similar fashion as for uploaded files. (See notes here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cognos-analytics/11.2.0?topic=administration-queries-uploaded-files-data-sets)

The size limits for uploaded files are configured by administrators in Manage > Configuration > System > Data. The settings that need to be modified are Size limit per upload of data (MB) and Size limit of stored data per user (MB).

The following file size limitations apply to individual users:

    • Maximum size of each individual file. The default is 100 MB.

    • Maximum size of all uploaded files. The default is 500 MB.

This allows for control of data upload volume but not for data monitoring. Can you provide more commentary on how you would like to have visibility into users stored data? Would this simply be read only or require other administrative capabilities?

    Thank you for this feedback.
