Unfortunately, in reporting, it is only possible to specify a different sorting order with the old charts. For many visualizations, this functionality is still missing, meaning that, for example, a product line cannot be sorted in descending order based on sales figures. In reporting, this can only be achieved through complex intermediate queries, such as using the rank function, but the necessary functionality, as seen in the old charts, is simply missing here.
@IBM: Change Components to Reporting, However, sorting a metric in Cognos Dashboards is already possible.
This functionality is already available in report studio but it is missing in the dashboard tool. In report studio we can display a column and sort or another column. The sort column is not visible at runtime. It is used in the background to sort the values in the visualizations.
