Client is expecting to access dashboard through PC, laptops, smartphones and tablets using browser version (not Cognos mobile apps), and require the designed dashboard to look seamless across the devices. However, there is no one setting in dashboard that can fit all devices' screens.
We have designed a dashboard on a 23 inches PC (relative layout, 16:9 resolution and fit to page) and the dashboard looks fine with or without going into full screen mode.
However, opening the dashboard in a laptop (laptop PC text size is normally recommended or set at 150%) will cause all existing visualizations to be not visible. The OS text size seems to have override the text size in the dashboard, and together with the widget filter that is always consuming top right hand space, the dashboard display becomes very unpleasant.
I believe Power BI has circumvent this by forcing OS text size not to override dashboard text size, furthermore by adding it's own zoom-in/out toggle in the dashboard in both desktop and browser version. By activating fit to page setting, the dashboard will zoom automatically based on device size. For instance, a Power BI dashboard when designed in PC, it is zoomed at 100%. When the dashboard is opened in a laptop that has significantly smaller screen size, the dashboard display will automatically adjust itself to 68% and nothing is compromised in terms of the dashboard content
I think is worth it to make a change in this as we cannot tell our clients that it would need a different dashboard catered for different device of different sizes.
