Uniquely timestamp .zip backups of Content Store database

I would like to suggest adding the ability to uniquely name or timestamp the .zip backups of the Content Store database, so that they don't get overwritten every time a new backup is created. Right now it appears that when you set up a schedule for a Content Store backup in the IBM Cognos Administration portal, it only maintains one .zip backup that continually gets overwritten at whatever time interval that you specify.

SQL Server, for example, allows for a unique backup naming convention for each execution of the backup so that you don't overwrite the old backup. The Cognos administration section appears to be set up so that there's just one .zip backup per schedule. Users of Cognos might not expect this type of behavior.

Having just one Content Store backup file significantly reduces the probability that we'll be able to restore users' data if needed.

If you want to maintain multiple Content Store .zip backups from different times, the only workaround that we're currently aware of (without using third party tools) is to create multiple schedules in the Content Administration section. For example, if you want to keep a week's worth of backups you would need to create 7 schedules with unique names - one for each day of the week. If you want to keep a month's worth of backups you would need to create 31 schedules with unique names. It would be much easier if this could be accomplished by creating a single schedule.

It was suggested by IBM Support that we reach out to IBM Partners for this solution. As a Cognos Customer, we should not need to pay a third-party Partner for basic administration tools for this product. We pay considerable amounts on our IBM License, and our costs would essentially double if we paid a Partner, just to gain basic admin backup features.

Please also know that this "buy a third-party tool" reply is not what customers would receive from your competitors. Not only do your competitors offer basic administration features like this, but they also provide Performance Tools, and more out of the box for Administration, which are currently missing with Cognos.

I hope this honest feedback is helpful, thank you for considering this request.
