When using the documented REST API in 11.2.4, you get the searchPath of objects back that are related to that object. For example, when you query a folder ID using the /groups API, you get back all of the groups that are assigned to that folder. They look like this:
"securityObject": {
"searchPath": "CAMID(\"<Search Path>")",
"type": "group",
"hasChildren": false,
"disabled": false,
"hidden": false
}
However, this searchPath is unusable by the new REST API because in order to access individual objects from the store API, you need the store ID.
For example, if I wanted to query all of the groups on the server for their members in a loop, I would need to find the storeID before hand to get this information. As it stands currently, the REST API because it does not provide the IDs of related objects, it is only good for querying information about a single folder or object which is not very useful if it does not return the store ID of related objects
I can do this easily with the Tableau REST API or Power BI REST API
