Star schema grouping in data modules

Add this functionality that is present in FM and it is important.

Every cognos users would benefit a quick construction of schemas that

clarify which path the query is following when you have many tables connected.

I wasn't aware of shortcuts introduction with cognos 11.2.3 .

Where can i find documentation on data module and shortcts?

anyway i miss the auto schema grouping capability with a single right click and all the advanced feature that are available with fm and shotcuts, especially those regarding navigations path.(DQM) Context Sensitive Join Selection)

Sincerely i am not expert with data modules so i would like to know if this feature is available within it.

    thanks

Thanks for the comments above about using data module shortcuts.

Star schema grouping with shortcuts is available for data modules as of Cognos Analytics 11.2.3. In previous versions of Cognos Analytics this feature is not available.

For the user who submitted this idea, can you take a look at the functionality described and let us know if that covers your use case?

This functionality is now almost possible using data module shortcuts. This allows you to create folders with a fact table and shortcuts to the dimensions. Create joins between the fact table and the dimension shortcuts.

However, data module shortcuts have some limitations:

    1. Every shortcut needs its own unique Id. DM does not have namespaces to make things unique. This can make pointing queries to different facts very annoying.

    2. Shortcuts do not inherit the target navigation paths.
You will have to create a navigation path for every shortcut.
This can result in a navigation path interface that cannot be understood by users,
