Dynamic Pivot table visualization in Dashboards

In Cognos Analytics we can build navigation paths to navigate within pivot table visualization . This is powerful and convenient.

However sometimes the end-user is confused because :

  • Applied filters are not visibles enough (only visible in the small funnel visualization and not in the general filters of the dashboards.

  • columns and lines are fixed and reordering is not available to the end -user without passing by the edit mode.

Qlikview provides a nice dynamic pivot table visualization, close to what we can do in an Excel pivot table. IBM could build a similar visualization in Cognos Analytics.
