Prevent copying of data modules

We want to allow a user to use a data module in Reporting perspective but he should not be able to copy the data module. On the copied data module the user is the owner and has full permissions.

It is not possible to prevent copying of data modules when a user has read permission on it.

You can also not hide the "Copy or Copy/Move" option only from the context menu of a data module. It is possible with role customization for all object types, but we want differentiate between the object types.

The enhancement would be to enable the differentiation of role customization between object types (data modules, packages, reports, report views, ...).

Alternateively the copy/move function should be an own permission and should not be associated with the read permission.

It would be good to know the reason why users should not be able to copy Data Modules.

Is it so that they can't change them or edit them?

Should users be allowed to link to data modules that can't be copied?

Its great that all users can do their own data modelling. But it certainly brings up some challenges in an enterprise solution when you have trusted data modules that users should not be able to utilise apart from in reports or dashboards.

Maybe that's the answer - we should be able to say in which ways a user can utilise a data module. We could allow a user to use the DM in a report or dashboard, but prevent them using the data module within the data module tool.
