This portal is to open public enhancement requests against products and services offered by the IBM Data Platform organization. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

We really need a way to change the FROM address of scheduled emails. This allows us to either use a DoNotReply@YourOrg.com or a custom email account that is not an individual. This will future proof these scheduled emails if a user leaves the company.
We also need the ability to override our personal email address that IBM picks up from our LDAP so that we can have all Cognos generated emails go to an alternate email address.
Tableau already has the ability to override/modify your email address.....just saying!!
Maybe we just go use Tableau until you fix this 🤷♂️

This is yet another major fail for IBM. It's just insane that to do something basic like this, assigning schedule ownership from one user to another (non-admin, so they can't even see the Admin menu) once again requires purchasing a 3rd party tool. If Cognos was cheap it wouldn't be such a big deal but the complete lack of proper built-in Admin tools is such a greedy fail, especially now they're peddling Motio's products for the kick-back.
Starting from CA 11.2.3 there is following option for Cognos Administrator user to set Schedule credentials:
-From Manage -> Activities -> Schedule:
-Select tick box at the top to select all schedules, or select individual schedules as required.
-For any of the selected schedules select options menu, (three dots on the right), to display options menu.
-From displayed dialog select option “Use my credentials”.
The challenge with making this type of change is the fact that schedules make use of the security of the credential under which it is executed. A system account may not have any data credentials, or it may have too much. Executing a scheduled report under it owner's credentials would ensure that any data level security that is in place would be respected. For the issue of people leaving, I would say that issue is one for HR and/or the Cognos Admin to address. Report ownership only pertains to who can assign permissions to other users...to update a schedule's owner, all that should be needed is to have the new schedule owner update the schedule to run under their credentials.
I added the feature to update credentials for various object types (reports, schedules, etc) in CogBox. Screenshots can be seen here: https://community.ibm.com/community/user/businessanalytics/discussion/vote-up-changeupdate-ownership-of-schedules-to-service-accounts
100% agree. This has been a major pain point in our organization for a very long time.
I agree the whole process today is a pain. Today, another user can claim ownership, but if I remember correctly they need to update the schedule at three different spots for it to work properly again. Also usually the schedules of our users are located in their own content folder and need to be moved by an admin first. Any improvement of this situation would be highly welcome.
