Dashboard Cascade with Dates

I have a model with 3 fields - Year, Year-Month, and Date. In reporting, I can set up a set of cascading prompts that allow for selecting the Year and then the subsequent months of the selected year and after selecting a Year-Month, the subsequent dates with that Year-Month selection. In dashboarding and using the filter area with a cascading set, I can do somewhat the same, but the issue is when it gets to the date field at the bottom of the selection. Even though that Date field is part of the cascading set it does not appear to function as it does in the reporting situation. It seems to assume that you are going to be specifying a range of some type. While it also allows it to be part of the cascade set, it does not behave as if it is. It seems that it s/b the same as in reporting without making any data changes or using an alternative approach. I can use other methods to achieve the behavior of a cascade, but not in the filter area where cascading filters are designed into. I have attached a document with screen shots of the behavior in both reporting and dashboarding.
