Advanced filter creation options

In addition to the option of creating a calculation, it would be very helpful to have the option (similar to ReportStudio) of using Boolean expressions for filter creation. For example, you could then simply create a filter that outputs the last 12 months.

(Example:

#/* Last 12 months based on system date */#

[Conformed Dim].[Time].[Year (No.)]  * 100 + [Conformed Dim].[Time].[Month (No.)]

between

_year(_add_months(current_date;-11)) * 100 +  _month(_add_months(current_date;-11))

AND

_year(current_date) * 100 + _month(current_date)

You can already create boolean filters within dashboards. This option is on the same menu option as the create calculation. That existing option meets the proposed idea.

One thing to be wary of is that boolean filters, such as this, are not passed through to drill through. If you are using dashboard to report drill thru then avoid such filters. A better mehanism is to create a calculation where a 'Y' is returned if the condition is met. This data item can be added as a filter item to the dashboard visualisation and filtered on Y. This filter would be passed through to a report drill through so gives a better user experience.
