Burmese Language Support

We are requesting Burmese language support in IBM Cognos Analytics for customers and users who need to work in Burmese. At present, Burmese does not appear to be available as a supported Cognos product or content locale in our environment, which prevents us from providing a fully localized experience for Burmese-speaking users. IBM Cognos supports configurable product locales and content locales, but Burmese support is not currently available to select and enable in the standard locale configuration flow.

In real usage, this creates a gap for customers in Myanmar or for Burmese-speaking teams who need reports, metadata, prompts, and the Cognos user interface to be understandable in their native language. Without official support, users must continue working in English, which is inefficient and increases the risk of misunderstanding report labels, prompts, navigation, and business terms.


Proposed solution:
Add official Burmese language support in Cognos Analytics, ideally covering both:

  1. Product locale support for the Cognos user interface, menus, buttons, dialogs, and system text.

  2. Content locale support for reports, metadata, prompts.

The standard locale code Burmese is my-MM (Burmese, Myanmar)
