Support for Multiple Gateway URIs per Cognos Instance (CACC)

Currently, only one gateway URI can be configured for a Cognos instance (CACC). In modern IT architectures, especially when using ServiceMesh, there is a requirement to provide multiple access paths via different URLs to support various network routes and use cases in parallel.

Goal:

• Enable configuration and usage of multiple gateway URIs for a single Cognos instance.

• Allow parallel access via traditional network routing and ServiceMesh-managed routing.

• Simplify and accelerate development, testing, and operational processes by offering flexible access options.

Background: The adoption of ServiceMesh necessitates multiple network access methods, each using its own URL. This setup is critical for ensuring high availability, flexibility, and efficient troubleshooting. In development and test environments, it is often necessary to switch between URLs quickly to address disruptions or network issues. Having multiple URLs available simultaneously is essential to support these workflows.

Risk: Limiting a Cognos instance to a single gateway URI makes integration with service mesh solutions, such as Istio, difficult and can significantly impede operational agility and technology adoption.

Enhancement Request: Please implement the capability to configure and use multiple gateway URIs for a Cognos instance to fully support environments utilizing ServiceMesh. This will improve flexibility, stability, and enable Cognos to operate efficiently within modern, service-oriented architectures.
