Dashboard Views need a Save As Option

12.1 introduced Personalized dashboard views.

https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cognos-analytics/12.1.x?topic=dashboards-personalized-dashboard-views

One use for dashboard views is as described in the linked document this open the dashboard in a Consumer Mode. This is great as we often want to create dashboards for business users but hide the Edit mode which they can accidentally engage.

Another use for dashboard views if for a user to apply their preferred filters to a dashboard and save a view of the dashboard with those filters.

However, dashboard views cannot be saved. Take the two above use cases. The user opens up the saved dashboard view and decides to interact with the dashboard by changing some filters.

Users can save to update the existing dashboard view but they cannot save this as a new view of the dashboard.

If users want multiple views of the same dashboard they need to open up the dashboard recreate all the filters and save a new view. Users may have applied multiple filters and only want a new view with one filter changed - to do this they must apply all filters again.

Dashboard views already have the ability to Save, there should be another option to Save As a new Dashboard view.

Whilst I know Report Views do not have a Save As they don't have a Save option either.

I think if there is a Save option there should always be a Save As option too.

The first case of consume mode is an ideal candidate for a Save As option.

A work around is the user copies the dashboard view first then does the analysis then saves the copy - but the user may not know if they want to save!
