Filtering on navigation paths hierarchy

Request the ability to be able to filter a visualization based on a hierarchy or navigation path similar to Watson Analytics. For example, with a navigation path defined as year, month and the ability to filter​ based on it, it is easy to filter on a date range, for example, from Dec 2017 to Jan 2018. When year and month are acting independently, it is impossible to filter like that. In the case of year and month filtering independently, you would have Dec 2017, Dec 2018, Jan 2017, and Jan 2018. Any kind of data that would have a navigation path might run into this issue, which limits the easy of use of business users to analyze data using Cognos Analytics.
