To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

I've added this to CogBox Premium https://pmsquare.com/cogbox
You drag in the powerpoint widget, it will automatically loop through all of the tabs in the dashboard creating a slide for each one. Every vis will be positioned as it appears in the dashboard.
For Excel, I currently do not have a license for a JS library that will let me export the visualization image. My Excel export will export the underlying data for each visualization, and optionally the filters applied and the queries generated. If there is enough demand, we can get the license and I'll be able to export the dashboard visualizations as images.
This is prob. more of a product strategy decision than a technical one. The lack of this feature in IBM Cognos Analytics is one of the top 3 drivers for PowerBI adoption in my organization.
In other companies in my industry, IBM Cognos has been heavily used for Finance and Biz Ops with a high level of executive visibility. Because of this visibility, I know that at least one of our larger competitors in this industry has decided to drop investments in IBM Cognos and reinvest in PowerBI. To be honest, the same is under consideration at my organization, too.
Our clients also request to be able to export from Dashboard to excel
I don't see a way to vote against this. It doesn't make sense to me to use an online, interactive artifact that is used to perform data exploration and gain quick insights due to its fluid nature, then carve one, minuscule view of its static output to a stone tablet to hand to an exec.
There are things in Cognos that are actually broken and need attention. Voting up items like this one draw attention away from real problems.
For us is export to Excel neccessary for future consolidation of outputs from various sources. Another company department use Qlik Sense and they have this required advantage
news?
Stephen Young: You can export the Dashboard to PDF today. This has been available since CA 11.0.10. See this technote for details on how to do this:
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEP7J_11.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.ug_ca_dshb.doc/ca_export_to_PDF.html
We also have a client who requires an export to PDF. This is probably desirable for many other users, so can this be considered too?
PowerBI has this functionality and its so easy to use. Right click and export Summary or Details. In Cognos we need to create a Drill through report and pass all the parameters and then display the report in Excel. Its alot more work in Cognos Analytics.
