Improvements to Drill Throughs

Drill throughs have been part of Cognos for a very long time, but there have been few improvements in the past few versions.

I suggest the following changes:

1. Drill to block.
I would like to click on a drill and have the target open in the specified block, replacing anything that was there before. This could be done by changing the target div to an iframe and adapting the old "CognosLaunchInWindow" method from the non-interactive mode.

2. Layout Expression Method.
At the moment the methods are: 1. Default, 2: Do not use parameter, 3: Pass data item value, 4: Pass parameter value. Please include 5: Layout Expression. This would allow users to modify the value of the key being passed quickly and easily. Often times Layout Expressions are easier to work with than query items, especially when working in an OLAP environment.

3. Drill definitions exposed in the JavaScript API.
In non-interactive mode it is possible to access and modify the drill definitions. Using oCV.getRV().getCV().getDrillTargets() it was possible to change the target report, format, locale, and other options. This allowed for controls that would adapt the drills in graphs and crosstabs.

4. Specify separate use and display values when drilling.
Ultimately a drill is another way of populating parameter values. Being able to exactly specify the use and display values of the parameter is invaluable, and would prevent ridiculous workarounds.

100% agree with these suggestions, especially the first. The ability to drill to an iFrame within the current report is much needed.
