Cognos Maintenance: Bulk Delete Reports

Require a bulk delete/move task to move/remove thousands or reports.

Description:
We need to have an easy way to identify and delete thousands of obsolete reports.
These reports exist in a number of folders and sub-folders.

The packages that these reports are linked to are no longer in use or have been removed, since they are pointing to databases that no longer exists.

It sounds like this can be done via the Cognos SDK, but it is cumbersome and not an easy task if you do not have a programming background. Also, customers are required to install the Cognos SDK.

This should be part of the normal maintenance tasks.

Proposed solution:
Ideally you should be able to search for reports that are linked to a package, that are broken, or where the package is "unknown".
Select all these and either move them to a separate folder for further analysis or delete them.

NOTE: This is not the report output that needs to be cleaned out. It is the actual report.
