Data Level Security for Cognos Analytics Data Modules and Data Sets

In order for Data Modules and Data Sets to be used extensively across the enterprise they must include the capability to apply security to control what users can access. Data Level security is important when deploying reporting across the organization

We were running 11.1.1 when I posted this idea.

    -Data Modules
We are securing reports for higher ed by the institution, once I set the security in a data module for the institution is applies when I create copy of the institution file.  We are working with reverse transfers where a student has enrolled into another institution and don't want the filter applied.  So to get around this, we had a create a view where the security isn't applied.

    -Data Set
If want to create a process that will create a data set and schedule to run for all institutions, I can see how we would restrict that data set to be secured by institutions.

Security filters were added to 11.1.1 release of Cognos Analytics. Have you tried using this new functionality to check if it meets your needs.

On data sets, currently no support for data security. Please explain the use case on security in 'cached data'
