Multi Select Cascaded Prompt Feature on Report Output Page

To give you a background, we want multi select cascaded prompts on top of the same report output page in Cognos Viewer without the need to introduce re-prompt button (or) any other built in tool options within the product. We used Java Scripts to achieve this (as per URL: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/cognos/reporting/advanced_report_design/page583.html) and as soon as user selects multiple values without clicking on any re-prompt button, the child prompt will display based on the parent selection. As a result of which, performance is degraded due to 2 reasons

a) All the report queries along with the prompt queries run on the DB for the first instance of run
b) Whenever different prompt values are selected, again all prompt queries along with the report queries will be submitted to fetch information.

Ideally in case of using any of the Cognos default re-prompt feature, only the report queries will run even after re-selecting the prompt values and we would like to check if this feature is available in any versions of Cognos including v11.
