With Clause on SAP HANA

When migrating from SAP BW on Oracle to SAP HANA or in general when using SAP HANA as data source via JDBC Dynamic Query Mode is not generating complex SQLs with a WITH CLAUSE statement.

During a major project with a bank we experienced that from 3'000 Reports those complex Reports with a join query were even slower compared to a execution on Oracle utilizing with clause.

Under SAP HANA all data is collected on Cognos Server and there consolidated and filtered.

We generated the with clause on an corresponding Oracle data source and implemented a SQL query on SAP using the With Clause functionality.

Results:

Without With clause:
DQM is utilizing 40GB for DQM Java Process and after 6h processing ending in a error message

With With clause:
Query returns in less than a minute

With clause is avaiable in SAP HANA from 1.0 SP7 on.

In XQE property files configuration to enable With clause is forseen but when switched on shows no effect.
