Teradata Temporal Table Support

For a Project called SRS (reconciliation Ledger with Finance & Risk & Liquidity, 10,000 Users) , BNPP uses Cognos BI on top of Teradata.

Teradata introduced a new data type (PERIOD) and associated constructs and methods to perform temporal operations. BNPP want to use this feature of Teradata called Temporal Table.

The Cognos engine does not provide explicit support for that data type nor the associated SQL syntax Teradata provides.
For Instance :
ValidTIME AS OF DATE '2014-07-20' SELECT * FROM DB_FTG_SRS_RESTIT.DOSSIER_TEMPO
or
ValidTIME AS OF PERIODE '2014-07-20,2014-07-30' SELECT * FROM DB_FTG_SRS_RESTIT.DOSSIER_TEMPO

BNPP requests that Cognos BI supports this feature in the next version (SQL syntax) due to the large number of projects using Teradata at BNPP.
