We create reports that detail the user-selected prompt choices on a cover page and the actual report on a report page. The cover page consists of a table with two columns: left column are all the prompt choices available, right column consists of repeater tables that display the parameter values.
In order to have the cover page clean and concise, the Report property for Group Repeating Cells - export to Excel must be set to 'Default' or 'Yes'.
The problem is that the report page (whether it's a grouped list or crosstab) ends up not being user-friendly. When users take the data to Excel and some list objects are grouped, they have to fill the data manually.
If the Group Repeating Cells - export to Excel was available as a Page property or even a data container property it could open so many doors to unique formatting choices for report developers, allowing us to provide a richer experience for the end user.
