Add option (functions) to be able to get a list of PAL subsets (private/public) and load it into query item

One of the great benefit of our BI application with CA11 for end users is the option to reuse SUBSETS (public/private) defined in PAL by end users (private subsets reflecting basically custom end user roll ups) or subsets defined by development team (public).

 

As of new feature we can today in CA 11.0.13 see subsets defined in PAL bellow hierarchies as new elements.

What we are missing to be able to use it in the way our business expects, to have dimensional (or macro) functions ready for this new object of “pal subsets”.

 

Typically we would like to load the list of subsets (with option of public or private) in value prompt so that the users can benefit from subsets they created in tm1 and select the one they want either public or private to use from the list of subsets in prompt pages and use elements of selected subset in report data containers like cross tabs, visualizations.

 

 

We are aware we could theoretically do that by having this information in another data source (another tm1 cube), add this cube with this information about users & private subsets in the same package and use it just in prompts but that would bring another layer of complexity and maintenance to our applications.

    This idea will not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with our multi-year strategy. The team is soliciting Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting.
