Hello, I am surprised this is not available already in the latest release/version. It is not odd to find places where the DEV and TEST/QA are sharing their environment within the same server/host and use a separate host/server in a box with a larger capacity for the PROD environment. So the problem for Cognos is not to be able to at least prompt for the new DB Name or keep the same one and the time to Import the Objects. It could simply be a check box to keep the same one or set the new name... as simple as that!.
This idea will not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with our multi-year strategy. The team is soliciting Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting.
