Thanks for getting back to me and taking care of this issue. As I indicated in the title this is not a new idea. The capability in C10 got lost in C11.

Here is a test case:

If a user wants to list the packages in the entire environment or a user simply doesn't know the name of the package in the first place there is no way to search for it in C11 but in C10 the user can do it simply by filtering "type" for "packages"

 

Please promote this issue as a bug so that the IBM development team can have it fixed for the next release.

 

As you indicated after a search is done the filter option at the top allows you to select data (package and data sets) but the search result is based on your first search. In C10 a user can search by "Type" to list all the packages in the entire environment. With current C11 a user won't be able to accomplish it. This feature is important for Administrators.

    Hi there,

    The search by Type is implemented in CA 11.1.7, Users can search for Packages/reports/stores/dataset/, etc. within this release, but the search result is only working for the current level/folder, it is not for all the levels/folders. This means this search is still cannot answer user's very simply question:

    How many packages/reports/stories/, etc in the environment?

    Please, please, simply make what was working in Cognos 10 now should work in Cognos 11!
