Today it is easy to hit limits on connecting one TM1/PAL instance to only one CA11 environment as there is only one BI environment to be configured in tm1s.cfg for authentication.

For customers like Loreal it means when they want to perform any regression tests (automated testing) using tools recommended by IBM like Motio or others, we need to have static data so that the test are relevant when comparing the outputs in time.

In case we are running these tests between two BI environments (for example CA11 release A  vs CA11 release B) we need to have two static copies for our “standard” instances to be able to execute those tests with static data and what is more we cannot use only one copy because we cannot use it for these two BI environments at the same time (assuming we want to keep security mode 5 to be synchro with prod/preprod configuration).

 

We would appreciate option for the future to allow multiple BI environments for authentication (especially if customers are using the same authentication, means if there is the same namespace defined, which is in our case always the same active directory) by allowing multiple clientCAMURI for authentication as you can imagine the benefit in ‘costs’ by removing this limitation and the need of running many tm1/PAL instances and maintaining them regularly instead of reusing one.
